Education Support Enterprise Agreement

Enterprise agreements are the main source of employment conditions within management. Enterprise agreements are negotiated between workers and management in accordance with the Fair Labour Act 2009. Any agreement must be approved by the majority of workers who vote before approval by the Fair Labour Commission. Business agreements should be read in conjunction with industry prices, legislation and relevant standards. The ministry is entering into negotiations for a new enterprise agreement covering nurses in the Primary and Secondary Program under the 2016 Department of Education and Training. The agreement was adopted with 87.5% yes in the choice of workers. For the first time in a generation, we have a proposal for an agreement that puts in place important measures for workload and contracts. On 31 July 2020, the workers concerned received a communication on the rights of workers` representation with regard to the proposed Department of Education and Training (2020). Communication is a formal requirement under the Fair Work Act 2009 and specifies the right of workers to be represented by a bargaining representative in relation to the proposed agreement. The ACT Public Sector Administrative and Related Classifications Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021 came into force on April 3, 2019 and expires in nominal terms on October 31, 2021. This agreement applies to all administrators, senior managers and school assistants. It includes headteachers, assistant principals, teachers and teaching assistants employed by the Ministry of Education (DET). 2020 is the year in which we will begin negotiations for a new agreement establishing your remuneration and terms.

The 2016 Ministry of Education and Training 2016 agreement on Nurses and Nurses in Primary and Secondary Education was put into effect on 28 December 2016 with a nominal expiration date of 31 December 2019. The ACTPS Education Directorate (Teaching Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2018-2022 was approved by the Fair Work Commission on August 15, 2019 and replaces the Directorate of the Actps for Education and Training (Teachers) Enterprise Agreement 2014-2018.
